Charles Dunstone against ‘bullying’ on Big Brother

So, whilst TTH was in Madrid, apparently Charles Dunstone decided to regale the British public with yet more CEO nonsense.

“Our concern has rapidly mounted about the broadcast behaviour of individuals within the Big Brother house.

“We are totally against all forms of racism and bullying and indeed this behaviour is entirely at odds with the brand values of The Carphone Warehouse.

“As a result, we feel that as long as this continues, we are unable to associate our brand with the programme.”

So, what about the bullying tactics of your accounts payable department? Or how your staff simply ignore their customers? How about the telemarketer harassment your company subjected people to just a few months ago? Come on Chuck. Even Caitlan Moran the Independent thought you were trying to shine up your company’s dreadful reputation.

  1. You know your living in a world of warped priorities when a Labour minister dubs Ryan Air the “unacceptabe face of capitalism”. If that’s the case, what does that make the telecommunication industry! At least Ryan Air provide a service, and to the best of their ability actually honour it by getting people from A to B with the minimum fuss. Just like the banks, Broadband/Telephone providers are a shocking load of crooks. Without me around to help her my elderly mother would have been taken for a ride. Just think how many other vulnerable people are out there without the energy or awareness to properly manage their affairs in the face of ruthless cynical manipulators. I don’t see the Government doing much about that.

  2. Exactly, I read Dunstones statement, its exactly the sort of pr fluff that you get from a politician when they are trying to dig themselves out of a hole.

Unhappy staff, unhappy customers unhappy with the unhappy staff. Ah yes what a wonderful mix.

  3. The fact that the Carphone Whorehouse chose to sponsor, and then denounce, a form of entertainment that is knowingly predicated upon cyncial victimization and Tele-poll profiteering confirms to us all that irony is, in fact, offically dead.

  4. here is a hypocrite who is totally missing the point, nobody gives a s–t about pr spin, we are all interested in whats happening at the coal face, which is not a lot.

  5. Hmm notice you don’t agree with my comment so its deleted. This is the most unbiast website i’ve ever visited….

  6. I believe you mean ‘unbiased.’

It was probably trapped in the spam filter. or you said something that was simply rude. I don’t tolerate nonsense from Irlam employees on this site. We had enough hassle from you guys over the summer.

The name of the site is ‘Talk Talk Hell.’ What would make you think it’s unbiased?

  7. Yes I do mean ‘unbiased’.

But anyway I said that you guys just jump on Charles even if he’s trying to a decent thing, Charles could heal the world and you’d still have something bad to say about the guy. I have no idea who or what Irlam is.
